OzVolley OS update

Travis Passier in Denmark

His Marienlyst are at the top of the Danish league (12-2) and have also just won the Nordic Championship in a tense final. Marienlyst took a 3-2 victory over rivals Middelfart. After the victory, they got the town hall reception with walls were adorned with paintings of kings and queens.

Perennial landing ground for young Australian Volleyball Stars, Team Valla leads the the Swedish League with a 10-2 record. With only 4 matches to go of the regular season, Team Valla have Falkenberg hot on their heals. Stars Tom Edgar (4th) and Aidan Zingel (8th) are among the top scorers in the league.

On Wednesday Eschenbacher Volley Franken thrashed  5th placed Rottenburg 3:0 (25-19 25-15 25-12). The Franks are now in 7th place, with their next match away today against bottom of the table Wuppertal, and must now be rated a chance to make  the finals. The team played like they were unleashed, and show its best performance of the season. Resolution of financial difficulties in the club may have given the team reason to perform.

“Not content with such a performance you have to be”, was usually so critical head coach Mark Lebedew almost euphoric. “It was important that we have consistently played at a high level and set the direction,” said Lebedew, who now looks forward to the great challenges ahead in the JAKO Arena against Berlin (10-6) and Friedrichshafen (16-0).

TSV Giesen/Hildesheim took a 3-0 win overnight, Nics’s team is in equal top position in the div 2 North competition. The team will be in the running to advance to the 1 Bundersliga next season if current form continues.

    • You mean you don’t usually speak with such eloquence as you do when you say “Not content with such a performance you have to be”

      • I CAN guarantee that I have never said that phrase, not in any language, not even accidently :)

      • I have a resident German translator these days. Perhaps we need to give Google translate the flick?
        Mind you – have a look at a Czech or Scandinavian translation …

  3. It DOES make sense – but ONLY if you translate it back into German and read it!!
    Agree with Devo – FORGET Google translate – it’s the classic example of why people should learn a language as opposed to using an electronic translator. And that’s also how quotes can be misconstrued. OK, I’ll get off my soap box …
