Thanks fellows,
I think it’s fantastic to get some of our best volleyball on the web. Even with the lack of mainstream media exposure, it’s totally possible to ‘self-publish’ our volleyball exploits. The photos and video from V-league have been very good.
This was on ABC News in Canberra http://www.abc.net.au/news/2011-12-03/heat-takes-inaugural-v-league-title/3711226
And The Canberra Times also did a number of write ups with full colour pictures and pretty decent sizes about the weekends and the finals.
General comments from players that I have spoken to seem to indicate that it was the best National League for many years. The fact that the teams were fairly even in strength meant there were very few one-sided matches, and with teams having to back up almost every week meant that they had to be near their best every week.
This kind of league is the best development tool for both players and coaches. which is why almost every reasonable Volleyball country runs some kind of Home and Away, weekly, National league.
Can’t wait for the 2012 version. Let’s go October to March with 10 or more teams.
